Transform Schools is thrilled to share a major milestone!
As we mark five years of systems change work impacting learning outcomes in secondary schools, we’re beyond excited to unveil our latest partnership with Echidna Giving.
Building partnerships and learning from teachers, families, local actors and children, we’ve designed and piloted solutions and support governments to scale these, ensuring every child realises their full potential in school and life beyond. Since 2019, our Transform PARity programme supported by BT Group, British Asian Trust and Greenwood Place has empowered girls in secondary schools, showing significant improvements in gender knowledge, negotiation skills, critical thinking, and confidence.
We know that gender gaps still exist and impede life journeys: Girls face unequal family support, limited access to resources, and societal norms that restrict their opportunities. Despite more girls attending school, they still lag behind boys in key skills and confidence.
We believe these can be addressed at scale: Building on our successful PARity and Transform Learning models, our new programme seeks to combine targeted instruction and participatory methods to offer structured, time-bound support to improve learning outcomes and life skills for both girls and boys.
Partnership with Echidna Giving: We are excited to partner with Echidna Giving, a private funder with one sole aim: getting more girls into better schools to live better lives. They're committed to bringing quality, gender-responsive education to both girls and boys in lower-income countries – because when all kids learn equally, our world becomes more equal, too.
We are teaming up with them to pilot and test our newest, game-changing Innovation for Impact: The Learning Equaliser Programme (LE). LE intends to boost awareness, agency, and learning gains for adolescents, helping them overcome gender barriers. Through this process, we aim to deepen the evidence on our model, close the gender gap and improve life outcomes for all students, especially girls at scale.
Here’s what Meera Pathmarajah from Echidna Giving had to say about the partnership - "It has been inspiring to work with the Transform Schools team as they fine-tune the 'Learning Equaliser' programme. Their work highlights the crucial yet often overlooked need for foundational learning support at the secondary level. Echidna Giving is eager to see how their blend of targeted instruction and gender empowerment can potentially transform learning outcomes, leading to higher rates of secondary school completion."
This new partnership marks a significant milestone in Transform Schools journey and we couldn’t be more excited to build the Learning Equaliser programme with Echidna Giving.
Welcome aboard Team Transform!
